Okay, so our DWF Director of Marketing Timothy John may be circulating rumors via Twitter about knife fights and dead hookers in swimming pools at the last Platinum Party. While our parties do rock, they're not quite that wild!
That said, the DWF Platinum Party, hosted by Jason Groupp, is a pretty awesome get together with all of the country's finest photographers in attendance. This year is shaping up to be even better with a DJ, numerous industry icons, a fully stocked open bar and a fun Photobooth provided by Simply Canvas! Click for all the deets
The Peek-A-Boo Boudoir Shoot
DWF Pro Kathy Honeybourne says she’s usually a lurker on the forums. It’s great that she decided to post about her “Peek-A-Boo” Boudoir shoots.

Cliff Mautner has been a contributing member of the DWF and a standout in the wedding photography industry for years now. Most recently Cliff was awarded the 2009 Grand Award in Wedding Photojournalism at WPPI and named by American Photo magazine as one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World. It's no secret that Cliff believes in a grass roots approach to wedding photography and he offers us this advice..
"The only way to develop a style of your own is to make the technical elements and fundamentals of photography completely instinctive. You can’t think about this stuff. It has to come to you without processing it. That’s the only way you can create. If you’re so hung up on exposure values, lens selection, focusing, and all of that other nonsense, you’re not thinking about composing an image."
We told you to bring your cameras! David Beckstead will be offering mini on-location shooting workshops all day Sunday at DWF Convention 2010 sponsored by Simply Color Lab. There’s no additional fee for attending Shoot with Beckstead!
David will be teaching a variety of compositional concepts and giving you the opportunity to put them into practice immediately while you're right there! You'll find more details at the DWF Convention 2010 website. Click to view the DWF Convention 2010 website

One on One Time with Kevin Kubota
DWF
Convention speaker Kevin Kubota, has one of the most
recognizable names in the photography world. In addition to
being the author of some amazing actions, a wedding
photographer and a world renowned speaker.
In our exclusive
interview Kevin shares with us this advice, "Change your mind,
and your heart will follow. Watch what you think, because you
ARE what you think. Even if we don’t physically say negative
things to people, about people, or about our own situations –
we can manifest them by just thinking them. We also have a
choice about what we want to think or feel. The more you fill
your head with positive thoughts, well-wishes, and calming
words – the better your life can be. We always have a choice." Full Interview on the DWF Blog
